Happy New Year!

Almost. It is not quite midnight on New Years Eve 2015. The kids went to bed hours ago and I would be in bed too, but I just can't sleep. I long ago gave up on setting resolutions. Now I just try to keep in mind goals. Some of my goals for 2016?

  • Get back into blogging. previously I had a blog and kept up with it for awhile. We had some major life changes (a baby, a new house, teaching a more advanced class) and documenting the good things feel by the wayside. I feel like my temperament has kind of suffered for that. Blogging is a good way to remind myself what I have to be thankful for and share the fun times.
  • Run. Run. Run. I want to run twice a week. I was running three times a week during the summer and for the first time in my life I developed calf muscles! My awesome sister and I sort of made a healthy habits pact where we share when we exercise, eat good food and encourage each other to do the same. It can be hard for me to find time to run during the school year (and by run I mean jog, let's not get too crazy) but it is important to me to make the time.
  • Sew quilts for my son, daughter and one for my husband and I.  Here are some pictures of a few blocks that I have already put together for my kiddos. These were made following the Modern Monday tutorials by Jennifer Dick at 42quilts.com.
  • My stretch goal for 2016? I would like to open an online store on Etsy. That involves a lot of smaller goals like developing a product to sell, finding the time to make it and learning how to use my serger. A girl can dream can't she?
I hope that your New Year is full of the life that you want to create and live.
Cheers,
Rose Pettijohn
